Puerto Maya
Mexico. We went in August, '05.
We be stayed at the Barceló Riviera Maya. Using a charter service to get us there. It is a pretty nice place, check out some reviews if you're interested & have nothing else to do. Of course, mine was posted as soon as we got back because so many people were concerned about this place after hurricane Emily passed through it - I have some other pictures posted there too.
I think that a charter flight is the only way to go if you're headed to a vacation. Everyone on the plane is as happy as you...for the most part.
The area - Riviera Maya - is a nice place. The people are super. It's typical Mexico though - the towns have an area for shopping, eating, and drinking. It's more enjoyable for me to be in places like this "without children", but as you can tell by some of the pictures - some things are more fun with them.
The Barceló Maya resort is very nice. It's an "all inclusive" resort - which Cathy & I don't like. We'd rather hoof it around the area and try local food & drink. So all-in-all, it was an "ok" trip. I doubt that we'll ever do it again, but if we do it will be without the kids.
