  Welcome to 2008. A new year. A new time.  A new year for travel ?   Last year was good (see below) but as you may notice, the trips are getting to be fewer each year. That is a trend that I personally don't like to see.  For this year 1st was a long-over-due visit to Las Vegas in April.  We stayed at the L.V. Hilton instead of the Flamingo - we got an offer that we could not refuse.  The trip was wonderful, as should be expected, but the LV Hilton has seen better days....and most likely the last of us.  Then, in May, we went on a once-in-a-lifetime trip - Mediterranean Cruise (click for incredible details)- Athens to Istanbul!  Yes - Greece to Turkey.  Was unbelievable!   Then we squeezed in a family vacation to Sandestin during the kids summer vacation (click for details).  Later in the year we may see also a long weekend trip to Palm Beach
